Rock Your Letters:

Take a Look at How KDs Continue to Rock Their Letters

With the sorority letters decorating their caps, KD reaches new heights as Beta Epsilons graduate from the University of Tulsa.

Gamma Omicron-Wayne State alumnae, from left, Kat Jensen Naranjo, Rachel Dippel, Shannon Bay, Michelle Gaviola and Kelli Wahl rock their letters at Ghost Ranch, where Kappa Delta Georgia O'Keeffe had one of her New Mexico homes. Shannon, who works at the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, shared interesting stories about the famous artist, including one about Pedernal, the mountain in the background. Georgia painted Pedernal many times and said that if she painted it enough, God told her she could have it. When Georgia died, her ashes were placed on top of Pedernal.
A group of KD friends who met through their volunteer work at the national level gather each April for a reunion. This year marked the 14th time they’ve “rocked their letters” just for fun. The group represents nine collegiate chapters, nine states, 12 CAB members, 11 National Leadership Team members, three National Council members, one national president, six Order of the Emerald recipients, 20 children, three grandchildren, three legacy daughters, three mothers-in-law and a 26-year age range! Pictured left to right are, back row: Beth Johnson Collawn, Martha Coffman Grimes, Michelle Parmelee Rabideau; middle group: Kristen Power, Margaret Holt Duncan, Teresa Zontek Finley, Becky Sperry Wells, Phyl Kimball Simmons, Sue Mihelick Hicks; front row: Beth Martin Lanford, Gail Wilson, Lydia Barousse.
