NLC Brings Together KDs from Across the Country

Kappa Delta’s National Leadership Conference for collegiate leaders was held June 24-27 in Williamsburg, Va. While officer training was the primary purpose of the biennial conference, sisterhood may be the byproduct that was most appreciated and will be remembered in years to come. The fall 2010 Angelos will present the whole story on NLC’s exceptional programs, speakers and events, but in the meantime, here’s a look at some of the friendships formed during the conference.

NLC brings together Kayla Magat, left, from Gamma Iota-San Jose State in California and Kayleigh Thorner from Gamma Omicron-Wayne State in Michigan.

Collegiate sports rivalries melt away when KDs from Delta Omega-Mississippi State and Epsilon Omega-Kentucky meet at NLC.

Being there for your sisters can be a roller-coaster ride – literally! Enjoying Busch Gardens together are, from left, Zeta Mu-Towson chapter members Molly Brady and Katie Schroeder with chapter advisors Margaret Grow and Cydny Hofmann Holt.

With their airplane grounded in Philadelphia, Sarah Palmer Wiszkon, Zeta Iota-Saint Louis chapter advisor; Christine Morse, Eta Iota-Pace chapter president; Maggie Schnog, Omega Chi-Cornell chapter president; and Leanne Gurney, Eta Xi-Dartmouth chapter advisor, band together to rent a car and make the drive to Williamsburg. Sarah said, “This trip really showed me the importance of the sisterhood that is Kappa Delta - how else could complete strangers do what we did?”
