McKayla Johnson

I am the pledge class 2007 class coordinator for the Gamma Delta chapter. I am currently vice president - operations and have served as a leadership chairman, secretary and SET Leader for my chapter. As leadership chairman, I organized a leadership/resume building workshop in which I invited the Vice President of Communications and Government Relations, and the head of staffing representative from the international business corporation, Eastman Chemical Company, along side our university's director of career and internship services. This workshop was open to all women at ETSU.

I am a biology major with a biochemistry concentration. I am a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Tri-Beta, American Medical Students Association, Admissions Ambassadors, secretary of the Honors College Student Council, and a grant recepient of the Talent Expansion of Quantiative Biology from the National Science Foundation. I am very involved in the research labs, and one of my research projects will be published in a 2009 edition of BIOS, the Tri-Beta National Honor Society magazine! I'm so excited!

In my spare time, I'm an avid University of Tennessee football fan! I was raised a Vol from the time I was old enough to hold an orange and white pom pom! I absolutely love doing anything that involves the lake or ocean. From tanning to fishing, I do it all. I also have an obsession with bargain shopping. There isn't a way to make me feel better than to shop for deals. I love dancing. I wanted to be a dancer at the age of three and used to wear tutu's around the house with my lifesize Barbie. I am a family girl with seven younger brothers and sisters and a cousin who is like my twin. They know how to make me laugh harder than anyone else in this world. I wouldn't be me without them! And finally, I hope to be a pediatrician or an obstetrician in the near future!

I volunteered to be the class coordinator because I love Kappa Delta, and I want to make sure we all stay connected!
