Confidence Coalition: Check Out the New Website!
On behalf of the Confidence Coalition, Kappa Delta has launched a new and expanded website for the coalition at www.confidencecoalition.org. Visitors to the site may now find confidence-building tips and advice, e-cards, games, blogs, videos, polls and information on events nationwide. The new site features three areas targeted to specific visitors: girls ages 5-12, teens 13-17 and women of all ages. There also are pages dedicated to International Women’s Friendship Month and National Girls Day, which will be held for the first time on Nov. 14.
As a Kappa Delta, you are an ambassador of the Confidence Coalition. Please visit www.confidencecoalition.org to sign the Confidence Pledge and then spread the message of confidence by sending the Confidence Coalition website link to your family, friends and co-workers. Together, we can raise awareness about the importance of confidence and inspire women and girls around the world to go confidently in the direction of their dreams!
So Say It! Kappa Delta Encourages Friends to Speak Up Against Dating Abuse
September 13th, 2010
In college, September means many things – the return to campus, the start of a semester, a new football season, and for one sorority, a chance to celebrate friendships. Kappa Delta established September as National Women’s Friendship Month 11 years ago, and this year, they’re celebrating in a big way with the launch of the “Friends Say the Tough Stuff … So Say It” campaign.
This outreach encourages friends to offer support, advice and intervention when they believe a friend is in an unhealthy relationship. All 140 collegiate Kappa Delta chapters will host awareness campaigns on their campuses. Motivated by the many reports of college dating abuse, Kappa Delta saw their opportunity to foster conversations between friends and potentially prevent dating abuse before it begins.
Even if you’re not in college or a member of Kappa Delta, you can help spread this message of support to your peers. Consider hanging posters like these Love posters in your school, or simply bring up healthy relationships with your friends.
We love that this project recognizes that being a friend means sometimes having to say the hard stuff. Kudos to the ladies of Kappa Delta for lending their voices to dating abuse advocacy!
