Confidence Coalition:
New Partners Share Goal of Improving Women’s and Girls’ Lives
The Confidence Coalition is pleased to welcome two new partners: www.Womenshealth.gov, a service of the Office on Women’s Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and CARE, a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty.
The Office on Women’s Health has as its mission the promotion of health equity for women and girls by educating health professionals and motivating behavior change in consumers through the dissemination of health information. The informative website, www.womenshealth.gov, includes health-related articles and tools, such as a body mass calculator, immunization schedule, menu planner and a glossary.
Women and girls also are at the heart of CARE's community-based efforts to improve basic education, expand economic opportunity, increase access to health services and protect natural resources in more than 70 countries around the world. Through the Confidence Coalition and with the help of Kappa Delta, CARE will provide innovative programming ideas and educational materials about global issues affecting girls and women as well as opportunities for college women to engage as advocates.
“We know that confident young women with access to skills and resources can change the world,” says Helen Robinson, marketing alliance manager for CARE. “That is why CARE is proud to join the Confidence Coalition. Together we will raise awareness about issues that impact women and girls globally, as well as empower women on campus and across the U.S. to take action to make the world a better place for women and girls everywhere.”
“Kappa Delta Sorority looks forward to working with CARE through the Confidence Coalition,” says Melanie Schild, the sorority’s executive director. “This partnership allows the coalition to reach a global audience with its goal to empower women and girls to have the self-confidence to reach their potential and address the issues that impact their lives.”
