DAYTON – For the second consecutive year, the Dayton, Ohio, alumnae chapter is a platinum sponsor of “5 for the Kids,” a 5K walk/run that benefits Care House, a child advocacy center that is connected to Dayton Children’s Hospital. Last year, the group became a platinum sponsor through its sponsorship of a KiDs Grant from the Kappa Delta Foundation. For the 2010 event held this summer, members collected enough donations to reach the platinum level, which entitled the sorority to have the KD logo printed on the back of participants’ T-shirts and on all advertising for the event. Five KDs participated in the walk/run, and 14 members volunteered on race day to pass out stress balls and water bottles with KD’s KiDs Grant logo and provide general help.
