Alumnae Today
CENTRAL ARKANSAS – Rachel Davis Lipsey and Cristina Broomas Easterling are witnesses to KD history in the making. The two were among the Central Arkansas alumnae chapter members who attended the installation of Eta Sigma chapter at the University of Arkansas/Little Rock. In addition to welcoming the new KDs, alumnae showed their support by making a number of items that the new chapter would need for the event.
CLEVELAND WEST – An alumnae tea hosted by Eta Gamma chapter at John Carroll University brings together KDs of all ages, including 16 members of the Cleveland West alumnae chapter.
DAYTON – It’s girls night out for Dayton, Ohio, alumnae members who treated themselves to manicures and pedicures before having dinner at a restaurant with visiting Alumnae Chapter Operations Specialist Jenni DiPaolo.
GREATER ATLANTA DAY – Peter Cottontail had plenty of help this year! Greater Atlanta Day alumnae chapter members display the Easter baskets they made for abandoned and abused children in the care of Atlanta’s Rainbow House.
HOUSTON DAY – Representing Kappa Delta, Jane Brownlee, left, and Denise Knight of the Houston Day alumnae chapter read to elementary school children as a part of Reading is FUNdamental, the nation’s oldest and largest nonprofit children’s literacy program. RIF is sponsored at a local elementary school by the Houston Area Panhellenic Association, which provides free books for the children and sends volunteer storytellers into the school.
LOS ANGELES BEACH CITIES – Celebrating 55 years of alumnae sisterhood with lunch on a beautiful spring day are members of the Los Angeles Beach Cities alumnae chapter, from left, Janet Griffith Lones, Dottie Getty Widoff, Alumnae Chapter Operations Specialist Peri Andrus Sexton, June Weiland Moberg, and Lynda Dorman Kraemer.

As a part of the Low Country alumnae chapter, the women donated several bags of groceries and then took a tour of the facility.
NATION’S CAPITAL – After a snow-filled winter, Nation’s Capital alumnae chapter members Katie Lee, Elizabeth Lauten and Natasha Bui are excited to spend a day in the sun at the Washington, D.C., Tidal Basin where they took advantage of photo-ops with the capital's famous cherry blossoms.
RICHARDSON/PLANO – Rose Groce, fundraising chairman for the Richardson/Plano, Texas, alumnae chapter, delivers donated clothing and shoes to a thrift shop sponsored by the Samaritan Inn, a homeless shelter that provides programs and support to help people regain their independence. In a unique twist to this community-service project, KD members were first encouraged to donate items they no longer wanted for consignment at local resale stores. Proceeds from those items were used to support the chapter's philanthropic and collegiate relations efforts. To provide further assistance, those items that did not sell in the consignment stores were collected and donated to the thrift shop.
TWIN CITIES – Dressed in period costumes, Dorothy Hartle Flynn and Harriet Wilcox Conkey, front row second and third from left, are guides at the Ard Godfrey house, where they led fellow Twin Cities, Minn., alumnae chapter members and guests on a tour of the historic home. As guides, Dorothy and Harriet share the story of the home and family as life was in 1850. Twin Cities AC member and group photographer Muriel Bochnak is the chairman of the Godfrey Project for The Woman’s Club of Minneapolis, which leases and restored the home.
