CALIFORNIA - Marla Weinholtz Zack, Epsilon Phi - California/Santa Barbara, a cancer survivor, turned her journey into an uplifting experience. "During my recovery and treatment for Stage IIB breast cancer, I participated in several sessions at a cancer support center near my home," she explains. "This center became a haven for me, a place where I could not only get in touch with my inner feelings but a place where I could process them and fully heal my mind, body and spirit." While participating in her weekly creative writing session, Marla doodled something that she later turned into Wings of Courage...Believe. "I turned this drawing into my first piece of jewelry," she says. "Cast in recycled silver, this original butterfly and ribbon design stands as a symbol of healthy renewal, of the delicate beauty of life, and of the strength and power of hope. Each double-sided pendant is adorned with a hand-picked piece of pink rose quartz, symbolizing the color of breast cancer awareness. Twenty percent of every necklace sold is donated to cancer research, organizations and charities such as Young Survival Coalition and weSpark Cancer Support Center.
